ORIGINAL ARTICLE. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PRINCIPLES OF REHABILITATION OF SANATORIUM-RESORT TREATMENT OF CHILDREN AT RISK FOR TUBERCULOSIS

Goal. Scientific substantiation of the principles of restorative treatment of children at risk for tuberculosis on the resort stage in sanatoria of non-tubercular profile. Materials and methods: In dynamics was conducted clinical and laboratory studies, including complete blood count with determination of the ratio of lymphocytes to the segmented neutrophils — which was allowed to judge the state of nonspecific resistance of the organism, the calculated indicators leukocyte index of intoxication (LII), index of immunological reactivity (MIT). The state of cellular link of immunity (the content of T and b lymphocytes), study of oxidative-antioxidant homeostasis.

Results: the study included 120 children, arrived for treatment in the sanatorium Evpatoria with recurrent bronchitis and a positive Mantoux test different degrees of severity, ranging in age from 9 to 15 years. The content of T – lymphocytes in children with more severe reaction to tuberculin were found to have significantly lower than in children with a reaction to the tuberculin less pronounced (respectively of 48.16 ± 0.36 and 46,81 ± 0,49%, p < 0.05). The level of b – lymphocytes significantly greater (respectively 21,2 ± 0,6% 18,0 ± 0,9%, p < 0.05). Observed activation of free radical oxidation of lipids, as evidenced by the increase in the level severity, ranging in age from 9 to 15 years. The content of T – lymphocytes in children with more severe reaction to tuberculin were found to have significantly lower than in children with a reaction to the tuberculin less pronounced (respectively of 48.16 ± 0.36 and 46,81 ± 0,49%, p < 0.05). Observed activation of free radical oxidation of lipids, as evidenced by the increase in the level of thiobarbituric acid – TBA – active products. The strengthening of peroxidation processes occurred on the background of reducing the function of thiobarbituric acid – TBA –active products. Conclusions. According to clinical and functional methods revealed differences of indicators of main functional systems of the organism in children with different severity of reactions to tuberculin showing reduced non-specific resistance mechanisms, immune defense, functional reserves. Conducted sanatorium-resort treatment of children at risk for tuberculosis allowed us to obtain favorable efficiency result in 62.5% of children during the 24-day duration of stay in the child somatic sanatorium, which reduces the risk of TB.
