The literature review provides data on the methods used to assess the skin state with atopic dermatitis. The drawback of the existing test system is the problem of inconsistency of specialists in the assessment of major indices of severity and the prevalence of the disease, as well as the efficiency. This problems is solved be using instrumental methods for evaluating the skin morphofunctional state. Biopsy is the generally accepted method in studying the skin morphology. The main disadvantages of the histological method are invasiveness, the remaining scar, possible complications: infected wound, development of phlegmon. The existing drawbacks of histological method led to the introduction of non-invasive organ preserving research methods: confocal scanning skin microscopy, ultrasonography, optical coherence tomography. These methods allow to objectify the evaluation of a dermatoses treatment effectiveness. The development of intravital methods of morphofunctional skin study, that allows to identify the skin condition in and out the lesion, examine the treatment effectiveness is the basis of personified dermatology.
