The cause of the urticaria, which is more often presented by physical factors, infections, food allergy, food additives, inhalation allergens and medicines, may be determined only among 20-30% of children. However, it is impossible to be limited to the differential diagnostics of only the allergic, infectious and physical reasons of the urticaria as it’s usually practiced in pediatry and allergology. In all cases it’s necessary to rule out a wide range of diseases. Apart from assessing the anamnesis, clinical symptoms and current laboratory researches of a disease help with carrying out the differential diagnosis of the urticaria. The main drug treatment of the urticaria (both acute attack, and chronic) is based on the antihistamines.
